NaviLens Digital Codes Paving the Way for Accessible and Inclusive Packaging

Speaker: Javier Pita
CEO
NaviLens
Join Founder and CEO, Javier Pita from NaviLens, as he guides you through the journey of this ground-breaking technology.
Beginning in January 2022, all Kellogg’s cereal boxes in Europe will include a NaviLens printed code, made up of high contrast colored squares on a black background. NaviLens, unlike QR codes, can be easily read from up to three meters away when a smart phone is pointe in it’s general direction. NaviLens was trialed in the UK, in 2020 on Kellogg’s Coco Pops boxes. During the trial, Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) found that 97% of trial participants wanted to see the feature on grocery packaging in the future.
Typically, vital information on packaging is found in often illegible fine print, making it very difficult for people with visual impairment to access details on pack. This new technology offers visually impaired and blind people the same level of freedom in store aisles and easy access to information as sighted people.
